What services does 1st Key provide?

We design, install, integrate, test and support access control, video surveillance, intrusion, fire alarm and notification, AV, structured cabling, networks and related building technology. Each capability has a dedicated service page with planning and handoff details.

Can you evaluate an existing system before recommending replacement?

Yes. A discovery review can inventory equipment, inspect documentation, test selected functions and separate repairable problems from platform limitations. The assessment scope is agreed before work begins.

Do you take over systems installed by another contractor?

A takeover starts with access to records, system credentials where available, an inventory and functional testing. We document deficiencies and define needed repairs before offering an appropriate maintenance scope.

Do you offer installation without an ongoing agreement?

Yes. The installation scope and closeout are defined for the project. We can also discuss planned condition reviews or a service arrangement if you want ongoing support.

What is the difference between preventive maintenance and repair?

Preventive maintenance is a scheduled review of covered equipment and documented findings. Corrective repair addresses a specific fault. Coverage, visits, response and charges depend on the signed agreement.

How do you decide whether a camera view is useful?

We begin with the purpose of the view, such as overview, identification or vehicle capture. We then check lens, mounting position, lighting, storage, retention and the authorized evidence workflow in the actual environment.

Can access control, cameras and alarms work together?

Often, provided the selected platforms support the required interface. We define the initiating event, operator action, permissions, timestamp alignment and failure behavior, then test the whole scenario.

Do cloud systems keep working during an internet outage?

Behavior varies by product and configuration. During design we document what remains local at the door or controller, what needs connectivity and how administration and events recover afterward.

How do you coordinate with our IT team?

We identify device and network ownership early, then review switch ports, power over Ethernet, segmentation, remote access, credentials, time synchronization and change windows with your IT stakeholders.

Are fire alarm requirements the same at every property?

No. Building use, adopted code, approved plans and the authority having jurisdiction determine the applicable path. We coordinate review, testing, interfaces and records for the specific project.

What should we expect at project closeout?

The agreed handoff may include final device inventory, as-built changes, test results, user and administrator orientation, open-item list and the customer acceptance record. The contract defines the specific deliverables.

Can work be phased around an occupied building?

Often. We plan access windows, temporary conditions, outage communication, trade coordination and acceptance checkpoints with the owner before scheduling field work.

How do I request service?

Use the Request Service page to call or email the team. Include your property location, system type, symptoms, urgency and a contact who can grant access. Emergency procedures depend on your existing agreement.

Where can I see customer reviews and company updates?

The Reviews page opens the Google listing where you can read feedback or sign in to leave a review. The LinkedIn Updates page links to 1st Key’s company page and selected public posts.

Do you offer rental or financing?

Ask us about rental and financing options for eligible scopes. Availability and terms are confirmed in a written proposal, and any financing is subject to provider approval.

What cities do you serve?

Our locations page lists incorporated municipalities and Census-designated communities whose centers fall within 120 straight-line miles of Denver, Colorado. Confirm scheduling for the exact property address.

Can I send a resume if there is no opening posted?

Yes. We are always interested in speaking with strong sales and operations professionals. Visit Careers and email your resume and a short introduction.

How do I sign up for email updates?

Enter your address in the email updates section, agree to receive updates and send the preaddressed message from your email app. You can ask to unsubscribe at any time.
